St Agnes
Fountain - 'First Album' - CD - only £9.99 The acclaimed, iconoclastic first album from Chris
Leslie, David Hughes, Chris While and Julie Matthews. Featuring the quartet
plus Gerry Conway in blistering form on percussion and drums there are stunning
versions of "I Saw Three Ships", "Deck The Halls", "Troika" and many more. Last
year's national tour sold out on the strength of this album and reminded
everyone who heard it what serious fun can still be had in the season of
goodwill to all men (and women). It is a seminal album, "carols with a curve"
and a joyous return to form for Christmas itself. Deeply fantastic!More Info. |

St Agnes
Fountain - 'Comfort & Joy' - CD - Sold Out 2002 Christmas album featuring more favourites from
those carol concerts of old. But, as they said on the BBC, you haven't heard
them like this before. The album includes songs from last year's repertoire
that were not on the first album like audience favourites, "Away In A Manger"
and "Once In Royal David's City". Yet another way of performing "God Rest Ye
Merry Gentlemen". A stunning Breton tune from Chris Leslie, vocal perfection
from Chris While and Julie Matthews and certain amount of rhythm from David

David Hughes -
'I Can Explain' - CD - £12.00 I
CAN EXPLAIN And so he can. This is David Hughes's long-awaited
follow-up to the acclaimed "This Other Eden" and the wait for his fifth solo
album has been worth it. Twelve new songs, characteristically jam-packed with
his "dry" lyrics and infectious rhythmic finger-style acoustic guitar.
I CAN EXPLAIN features his long-time collaborators, Gerry Conway on
drums and percussion, Jacqui McShee, Helen Watson, Chris While and Julie
Matthews on backing vocals of pure class and invention with occasional
diddly-booms from Martin Brunsden on double bass (and bowed saw). New York
virtuoso, Johnny Mars, adds a little harmonica seasoning on the sensational "I
Drive A Red Car Now", Bert Jansch duets on "Who Could Ask For Anything More"
and Sean Kingsley tap dances his way through "Solution".
Co-produced,
engineered and mastered by Mark Tucker this is David Hughes in his finest,
finest colours.
